FAQ

You have questions? We have a FAQ!

Who are we?

We’re a local family business in Downtown Orlando, established in 2016, comprised of pet professionals. As a company, everything we do revolves around dog safety, peace of mind for our clients, and treating our employees well. We truly believe that happy, experienced, and thoroughly trained team members allow us to offer our clients a more dependable, trustworthy, and consistent service. We also offer our employees job security, workers compensation, benefits such as Paid Time Off. Our walkers are a team of dog professionals working together for one goal: Happy Pets. Happy Humans. Happy Neighborhood.

How long have you been in business?

Eola Pets was founded in 2016 with roots in the pet industry since 2006.

What services do you provide?

We are a dedicated dog walking service and offer in-home pet sitting visits if you will be away .It’s what we do best and it’s our specialty. Some of our clients use us one day per month, while others use us 7 days a week. For our exisiting clients, we also offer concierge services such as bathing, hourly sitting, overnight sleepovers and doggie taxi.

What about weekend care?

We know life doesn’t stop on the weekends, and we’re proud to offer pet care 365 days. So feel free to take that weekend trip or head to Disney for the day. We’re here seven days per week. Want someone to spend the night at your place for midnight snuggles? Yep, we do that too.

Do you have a backup plan if you get sick or injured and can’t make it to care for my pet(s)?

Yes! We always have a back-up walker and contingency plan in case something causes your walker unavailable.

Do you bring your own pet, other people’s pets, or anyone else with you when you care for client’s pets?

We do not permit our own pets to come along on dog walks. With client approval and temperament permitting, we do love to offer social walks in which case we may walk your friendly dog with another dog in your neighborhood or building. This is our favorite way to introduce neighbors to each other and build community through friendly pets. Don’t worry, if your dog is shy or better on their own, we offer private walks as well. We don’t believe that walking 4 or 5 dogs at one time is a safe activity in an urban environment. Safety and customer satisfaction are the two focuses of our dog walking services.

Can you give medication to my pet(s) if needed and is there an additional charge?

Yes. Our team is trained to administer oral and topical medications including ear treatments and eye drops.

How will I know if you came for the visits?

You will receive time-stamped and GPS map updates through our app for each service you book with us*. Never will you have to worry if your pet has been visited or if he’s been stuck in his crate all day. You’ll know when we came, where we went, and receive a photo worthy of being on a holiday card. *GPS mapping not available for potty breaks.

How do I know a walk has been finished?

We use a scheduling app, and office managers are constantly monitoring the schedule in real time so we know where your walker is throughout the day. This assures our clients that no pup is left behind and that a backup walker can jump in and take over if something comes up.

When is payment due?

We have options for both weekly and monthly invoicing. Services will be charged at the time of booking or before the first service. We require a credit card on file before booking services. Emailed confirmations will be sent each billing date. Clients are always able to log onto the app/portal to view old invoices, check past payments or update their bank account details.

What is the cancellation policy? How do I cancel a walk? Or book an extra walk?

We understand things come up. Let us know by 8 am on the day of service and you will not be charged. We will not offer a refund on prepaid services, but will apply a credit to your account to use towards future services. $5 fee applies to services cancelled on the same day as the scheduled service after 8am.

How do I cancel a walk? Or book an extra walk?

No worries. Cancel easily using the app or shoot us a text. Our app allows for simple and complete schedule management on your phone or computer! You can request visits, cancel visits, view a calendar of booked visits for future planning, upload pictures of your pets, and even read visit notes from your walker. We know how stressful life can be - we make booking pet care as simple as possible.

How do you find your employees and what is your hiring process?

We have hundreds of applicants that we go through to ensure we only hire the best. Our standard is extremely high; We have a 6-step interview process and we require over a dozen shadowed walks before they are allowed on their own and are then in trainee mode for at least 4 weeks after that. We also check references, background check, and insure each employee. We do not use independent contractors like most because companies cannot legally train or enforce procedures to a subcontractor. Technically, companies using contractors can’t even ask their contractor to be somewhere at a certain time. Being this thorough when hiring our employees is expensive and more costly than if we used sub-contractors, but it’s the right thing to do to ensure that our clients have the best service with the least amount of liability.

Are you insured and bonded?

Eola Pets and each of its employees are licensed, bonded and insured for your safety.

What happens when it rains?

Don’t worry, we won’t melt. We all have all-weather gear for rainy days. If it rains, remember to leave out a towel so we can dry off your pup. If your doggo hates the rain, we’ll just go out for a quick potty break and spend the rest of the time playing inside. In extreme weather, (heat waves, thunderstorms, etc) services may be modified for the safety of everyone involved.

How do keys work? Who has access to my home and do I have to leave keys outside?

Keys are coded with no identifying information on them and only our team members will have access to the keys. We secure keys in a secure, surveillanced lockbox in our store. (We have a very snazzy key-tracking feature on our app so we know where keys are at all times.) If you live in a condo building that requires front desk sign-in/key pick-up, we're happy to comply to your building's key policies but prefer to have our own key/fob, as sometimes waiting for a key with concierge can cut into your pets visit. We use secure lockboxes with some homes which offers the benefit of access to a spare key whenever you need, too.
